Low water temperature: Snapping turtles may not eat because the water temperature is too low. Snapping turtles like water temperatures between 20 and 33 degrees Celsius, and if the water temperature is below 20 degrees Celsius, they will not eat. Breeders should raise the water temperature to between 28 and 31 degrees Celsius. | | Poor water quality: It is also possible that the water quality is so poor that the breeder needs to change the water immediately. | | Sickness: It is also possible to suffer from diseases, such as enteritis and pneumonia, which are more common. Breeders can treat them according to different diseases.
Why don't snapping turtles eat and how to solve it?

1. Low

water temperature 1. Reason: Snapping turtles like high water temperature. If the water temperature is lower than 20 ℃, it will affect their appetite and make them not eat.

2. Solution: The breeder needs to raise the water temperature to above 20 ℃. If possible, the temperature can be raised to 28-31 ℃, because their appetite and activity are the best in this temperature range.

2. Poor

water quality 1. Reason: If the water quality is too poor or the water is too dirty, it will also affect the appetite of snapping turtles, and they will not eat for a long time.

2. Solution: The breeder needs to change the water immediately and regularly in the future breeding process. If conditions permit, the circulating filtration system can be installed, so that the deterioration of water quality will be slowed down.

3. Sickness

1. Cause: Snapping turtles will not eat after they get sick, such as gastroenteritis or pneumonia. The main cause of gastroenteritis is improper feeding or unclean feeding, and the main cause of pneumonia is low water temperature or cold.

2. Solution: If it is due to gastroenteritis, the breeder needs to stop feeding and then feed some norfloxacin or other digestive AIDS. If it is due to pneumonia, it can be fed with Moroxydine in the early stage, and if it can not be fed, penicillin can be injected intramuscularly.
