The reproduction of the little Chinese shrimp is very simple. As long as the water temperature is controlled at about 22 C when breeding, and attention is paid to feeding to provide nutrition, adult shrimp can reproduce themselves. When the environment is suitable, the male shrimp will swim after the female shrimp and then mate with it. After mating, the mother shrimp will produce eggs and put them under her stomach. After 2-3 weeks, the shrimp eggs can hatch into shrimp.
The newly hatched shrimps are relatively fragile and will not hide in the water grass or rocks. Therefore, they are more likely to be eaten by fish or adult shrimp in the same tank. Therefore, it is recommended that the newly hatched shrimps be raised separately and not together with other fish and shrimps. When breeding, it can be fed with backwater to provide nutrition. After a period of time, they can be fed with other feed when they grow up.
The time for the shrimp to grow up is about 4 months. But this time is not absolute, because the breeding environment and individual genes will also determine their growth rate. Some individuals have good genes and can grow up in about three months in a suitable environment. But some individuals have slightly worse genes, and it takes nearly five months to grow up in a less suitable environment.
