Brazilian tortoises can eat all kinds of food, especially fresh fish and shrimps. But they hate some crude fiber foods, such as cooked lean meat and hard jerky. Breeders can choose turtle food as the main food, supplemented by live bait, and occasionally with some vegetables and fruits to feed together, so that the nutrition of Brazilian turtles is more comprehensive. Brazilian tortoises can be fed twice a day when they are young, and the amount of food they feed each time is only one tenth of their size. In adulthood, the frequency of feeding can be reduced, but the amount of feeding should be increased, preferably once a day or two, and about one fifth of the body size should be fed each time.
1. Space: Brazilian tortoises like to crawl everywhere. Breeders should prepare a larger container for them. It is better to add stones or boards to the container to create an amphibious environment for them.
2. Illumination: Brazilian tortoises need sunshine to grow better, so breeders should insist on giving them 1-2 hours of sunshine every day.
3. Water level: Although Brazilian tortoises are terrapins, they cannot live in deep water, so the highest water level of Brazilian tortoises can only reach the carapace, and can not submerge the carapace, otherwise Brazilian tortoises are easy to choke or drown.
