In general, captive Brazilian tortoises will not bite their masters, because their IQ is relatively high compared with other tortoises. If they are reared for a long time, they will know their masters and have a psychological dependence on them. Therefore, under normal breeding conditions, they will not bite their owners. Of course, although Brazilian tortoises have high IQ, they also belong to animals. If they are too hungry, they will bite. Also, when they are angry, they will bite people. Breeders should try not to tease them with their fingers, and don't make them too hungry to avoid biting.
2. What to do after being bitten by a tortoiseIf the tortoise is accidentally bitten, the breeder can make them let go by tapping their carapace or poking their eyes. If they don't let go, you can also put them in water and tap them on the head gently, or plug their noses so that they will let go. After being bitten by a Brazilian tortoise, don't pull hard, otherwise both the breeder and the Brazilian tortoise will be injured.
If you are bitten by a Brazilian tortoise, you can rinse it with clear water and then disinfect it with alcohol or iodophor. If there is no alcohol or iodophor, it can also be disinfected with soapy water.
