The ocellated turtle can be raised artificially, but on the whole, it is relatively difficult to raise them. First of all, the eye spot turtle has a higher requirement for the surrounding environment, water temperature, water quality and other factors. Moreover, the eye spot turtle is very sensitive to the surrounding environment, once the environment is not suitable, they are easy to get sick. There are many common diseases, such as pneumonia, gastroenteritis, white-eye disease and so on. A more important reason is that they are easily injured on the way from the wild, which will reduce their resistance and make it more difficult to breed them later.
1. Container: If you want to raise an ocellated turtle, the most important thing is to prepare an aquarium. The capacity of the aquarium should be large. Inside, you need to put a sunning table out of the water. They can bask in the sun and rest on it. Some green plants can be planted around the terrace to provide them with a growth place to simulate the natural environment in the wild.
2. Feeding: Ocellated turtles are omnivorous turtles, but they prefer to eat animal bait. The main foods are mollusks, insects, etc., especially lean pork, small fish, shrimp, etc. The food needs to be cleaned and chopped before feeding, and does not need to be cooked or steamed. At the same time, there are many plant baits, mainly melons, fruits and vegetables, but also can feed some aquatic plants, leaves, flowers and plants.
3. Water quality: Water quality management is an important part of breeding ocellated turtles, and the quality of water quality directly affects their health. In order to keep the water quality clean, we should do two things in the process of feeding: changing water frequently and fishing residual bait frequently. Change the water once a week, not all, at most half of the new water. Because of their unstable food intake, there are often surplus baits to be fed, so the residual baits should be cleaned up in time.
4. Water level: Adjusting the appropriate water level is an important link for breeding ocellated turtles. Because of the weak constitution of young turtles, the water level should not be too deep, not 2-3 centimeters on the back. Because this kind of turtle has better water quality, the water level can be deeper, and the activity space is larger, which is more conducive to growth.
