1. Prepare a breeding tank: Before breeding Thai betta, prepare a breeding tank for them. The water in the tank should be clean, and the water temperature should be kept between 26-28 degrees Celsius. Such water is more suitable for breeding.
2. Parent fish into the tank: Prepare a female fish in the ovulation period, and put it into the fish tank for breeding for 1-2 days, so that it can adapt to and be familiar with the environment in the breeding tank. Then prepare a transparent partition into the breeding tank, and put the male fish in the breeding period on the other side of the partition, so that the parent fish can get familiar with each other and stimulate estrus. If there is no partition, you can also prepare two transparent breeding tanks, put them together, put male and female fish respectively, can play the same effect.
3. Move the female fish: After oestrus, the male fish will spit out bubbles to make a bubble nest. After about two days, the nest of the male fish is almost ready. At this time, the female fish can be fished out and placed on the side with the male fish, so that the two fish meet. When they meet, they will chase and play for a while, and then begin to breed.
4. Fishing out the female fish: After the female fish spawn, they need to be fished out of the breeding tank. Because the male fish will be responsible for hatching and caring for the young fish, while the female fish do not have the habit of protecting the young, and may eat the eggs by mistake. Even if they do not fish out, the male fish will take the initiative to drive away the female fish. Within 1-3 days after spawning, the eggs can hatch into small fish under the care of the male fish.
It is recommended to choose Thai betta over 4-6 months old as parent fish for breeding. Don't choose too small fish, because they are not sexually mature and do not have the ability to reproduce.
