The pig-nosed turtle is not suitable for being mixed with fish. It was fine when I was young, and it was possible to live peacefully with fish. Once they grow up, their body length can reach about 50 cm. At this point, they will be much larger than the average tropical fish, and they will not be able to coexist peacefully with fish. They will bite the fish and use the fish as food. Therefore, it is not recommended to breed pig-nosed turtles and fish together. If it must be raised, it is necessary to choose larger freshwater fish and its mixed culture.
If the pig-nosed turtle and fish must be mixed in the same tank, then only arowana is recommended. Arowana is a relatively large freshwater fish, in the adult body and the pig-nosed turtle, some species will be larger than the pig-nosed turtle. Given their similar size, it is possible for turtles and fish to coexist peacefully by feeding them plenty of food.
Pig-nosed turtles can be mixed with parrot fish when they are young. When they are about the same size, as long as they can provide enough food and living space, they can live peacefully and generally do not fight. But if the hog-nosed turtle grows up, then it can't be raised with parrot fish. The pig-nosed turtle will grow up to be fierce, and there is no guarantee that it will not bite fish.
