1. Water temperature: Black shell shrimp does not have a high requirement for water temperature. It can live in water between 5 and 35 deg C and can grow in water between 10 and 30 deg C. When breeding, it is recommended to keep the water temperature between 24-28 C, which is more conducive to their growth.
2. Feeding: It is recommended to feed every 3-4 days. When raising young shrimps, the feeding frequency can be increased appropriately. If there is no algae in the tank, you need to increase the feeding frequency. The feed can be cooked spinach, algae, dried red worms, tubificidae and the like.
3. Water change: It is not recommended to change water frequently when breeding black shell shrimp. Generally, it is OK to change water once a month. Because they are so fragile, the change in water quality when they change water may make them unable to adapt and die. Every time you change water, you should pay attention to adjusting the water temperature of the new water to minimize the change of water temperature.
Strictly speaking, black shell shrimp does not purify water quality, but it has the effect of removing algae. They can eat brown algae and Ulothrix. If there are a lot of brown algae and filamentous algae in the water tank, then you can raise a few black shell shrimp to help remove algae, the effect is very good. In addition, they can also eat some residual fish feed, but they do not eat fish feces. So strictly speaking, they have no effect on purifying water quality. On the contrary, if there are too many black shell shrimps, they will pull a lot of feces and consume a lot of oxygen, which will affect the water quality.
