Under the artificial breeding conditions, as long as the water temperature is suitable, between 15-30 ℃, the black shell shrimp may breed eggs throughout the year. Their reproductive capacity is relatively strong, and they can reproduce many times in a year. If the water temperature is suitable, their breeding frequency can reach once a month. But if the water temperature is too low or too high, they will not be able to reproduce normally.
The spawning time of the black shell shrimp is directly affected by the water temperature. When the water temperature is about 26 C, the hatching speed of shrimp eggs is the fastest, and it only takes about 13-14 days to hatch shrimps. When the water temperature is between 22-24 C, the hatching speed of shrimp eggs will be slightly slower, about 15-16 days, to hatch shrimp. If the water temperature is too high or too low, they will incubate for a longer time.
The newly hatched black shell shrimp is very small, with a body length of only 2-3mm. But their growth rate is very fast. It only takes 3-5 days for them to grow to about 3.5mm. It takes only 2-3 months for them to grow to more than 1.5 cm. When they grow to more than 1.5 cm, they basically reach sexual maturity and grow up.
