In order to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the water quality, it is usually necessary to change the water for tropical fish every week or so. If there is a filter in the water tank, it can be extended to half a month. It should be noted that due to different feeding conditions, the interval of water exchange should also be controlled by oneself, if the constant temperature of the fish tank can be guaranteed, the interval of water exchange can not be changed, if the water temperature will change with the season, then change more frequently in summer and less in winter.
To change the water for tropical fish, we usually choose tap water. After disinfection, the tap water often contains chlorine. Therefore, we cannot use the water that has just been connected. Instead, we should air it for a few days and wait until the chlorine volatilizes before using it. It should be noted that water change should not be easily selected from river water or well water, if there is pollution in such water, the damage to fish will be greater.
Usually, we should pay attention to the water temperature and water quality when changing the water for tropical fish. Because this kind of fish has extremely high requirements for temperature, and the change of water temperature has a great impact on it, so we should control it well. Generally, the temperature difference between new water and old water should not exceed 1-2 ℃. According to the habits of fish, the pH of water should also be paid attention to, and the pH should be maintained between 6.0 and 7.8.
When changing the water in the fish tank, it is usually necessary to pump water from the bottom. In this way, the residual bait and fish manure at the bottom of the water can be cleaned up to avoid deterioration of the water quality. New water should be poured in slowly from the top, not in one head, to avoid too much change in water temperature, so as not to stimulate the fish body, to ensure the healthy growth of fish.
