Bacteria houses and ceramic rings are used to cultivate bacteria, but they are not very helpful to the growth of beneficial bacteria, mainly to provide a space. From the perspective of space alone, the effect of bacterial house is better than that of ceramic ring, because the upper limit of culture is higher. But usually the beneficial bacteria in the fish tank will maintain a certain amount, so the extra space in the bacteria house is not necessarily useful, and from the point of view of affordability, the price of the ceramic ring is lower.

2. How to use the ceramic ring to cultivate bacteria

1. Put it into the filter box: After the ceramic ring is bought, it needs to be washed clean. It is better to use potassium permanganate to disinfect it so as not to bring harmful bacteria into the filter. After disinfection and rinsing several times to ensure that there is no drug residue, it can be placed in the filter box, according to the size of the filter box to choose a good arrangement.

2. Pour in raw materials: Generally, some raw materials are needed to cultivate bacteria. They can be added to the growth and reproduction of nitrifying bacteria. Of course, it is also possible to add a little organic matter to the fish tank. In this way, the ammonia nitrogen produced after decomposition is also needed for the growth and reproduction of nitrifying bacteria.

3. Turn off the lamp and explode oxygen: Nitrifying bacteria are aerobic bacteria, so they require high dissolved oxygen in the water body and need to be oxygenated by an oxygen pump at all times. At the same time, it is better to put it in a dark place and not let it receive light.
