For small tropical fish, the first thing to pay attention to is the water temperature and water quality. These two conditions determine whether the fish can grow healthily. Usually the water temperature should be controlled at about 25 C, preferably not more than 30 C, and not less than 20 C if it is low, so as not to stimulate the fish body by high and low temperatures and affect their appetite. In terms of water quality, neutral or weak alkaline soft water is usually used, and the hardness should not be too high.
There are many kinds of small tropical fish, and different fish have different needs for food. Those who prefer meat can feed a little fish and worms, such as tubificidae, yellow mealworms, and so on, but the size must be noted. They do not eat those whose mouths are larger than those of the fish. In addition, it can also be fed with artificial feed, one to three times a day.
Small tropical fish will change the water every other period of time, the frequency of water change mainly depends on the changes in water quality, if the water quality is maintained well, there is oxygenation and filter material, do not change too often, you can change it every half a month. If the water quality deteriorates rapidly, the water change cycle should be shortened to once or several times a week. In addition, in winter, it is no problem to change it once every three months.
Small tropical fish can be polycultured. Most of them are mild in character, so there is no problem in raising them together. Moreover, their bodies are relatively close, and there will be no situation of swallowing each other. It should be noted that the feeding habits of fish in mixed culture should be consistent, and the requirements for water quality should be close.
