1. Why do tortoises live long

The life span of big snapping turtles is relatively long, generally about 60-80 years. The life span of small snapping turtles is slightly shorter, generally 45-50 years, and no more than 30 years in the wild.

3. Asian giant tortoise: The size of a tortoise often determines its life span. Small tortoises do not live for a long time, while large tortoises can live longer. For example, the longest-lived tortoises, such as elephant tortoises and leatherback tortoises, are very large. The same is true of Asian giant tortoises, which are said to live for about 80 years.
