The method of dividing the tiger skin fish into male and female is very simple. Usually during the breeding period, the color of the male will become more gorgeous, and the fins will become particularly bright red, while the female fish will not change significantly. However, during the breeding season, the abdomen of the female will become very large, and eggs can be seen, gently pressed with fingers, eggs will be discharged. In addition, in the non-breeding period, it is not easy to distinguish between male and female, usually the male color is more red.
1. Water quality conditions: In order to ensure the normal reproduction of the parent fish and the hatching of the fish eggs, attention must be paid to the water temperature and water quality. The temperature can be 1-2 ℃ higher than the normal temperature, but usually not more than 28 ℃, otherwise the dissolved oxygen in the water will be reduced, affecting the breathing of the fish. The hardness of water is between 4 and 6, which can promote fish estrus.
2. Parent fish in the tank: Prepare a special breeding tank, and put the parent fish in the tank during the breeding period. Usually to choose 6-8 months old fish, male and female input ratio of 1:1, usually three weeks can lay eggs, each egg has about 450-550, the appearance of the color is khaki.
3. Waiting for reproduction: After the parent fish is put into the fish tank, the male fish will gradually become married. At this time, he will start to chase the female fish and keep circling around. Slowly, they will chase each other and ovulate at the same time. When spawning, the female will drive away the other fish around and occupy her spawning ground.
