Although the grass turtle and the Brazilian turtle are often confused, there are still relatively big differences:
First of all, the shape of the grass turtle is oval, and its carapace is raised, with relatively obvious edges and corners, while the Brazilian turtle is also oval, but its carapace is relatively flat. Secondly, from the external morphological characteristics, the shape of the back shell of the grass turtle is a regular polygon, while the Brazilian turtle is more circular shape, and the shape of each Brazilian turtle may be different. The carapace of the Brazilian turtle also has some serrations on the tail. Thirdly, from the color point of view, the Brazilian turtle has red marks on both sides of its head. The grass turtle turns black when it matures, and the Brazilian turtle is dark green. Finally, from the point of view of personality, individual Brazilian turtles are more irritable, while grass turtles are generally mild.
The grass turtle and the Brazilian turtle are not very suitable to be raised together. First of all, from the personality aspect, if a turtle is irritable, it is very easy to conflict with another kind of turtle, resulting in fighting and other problems. Secondly, from the point of view of size, bigger turtles will bully smaller turtles. Finally, if mixed together, turtles are prone to territorial awareness and fighting will occur. Therefore, it is not recommended to mix the two.
