zebrafish can use tap water. Generally speaking, we use tap water to raise fish, but we can't use untreated tap water. Before using tap water, dechlorination, disinfection and nitrate bacteria cultivation must be carried out.
1. Chlorine removal: There is a large amount of chlorine in tap water, which will have a negative impact on the growth of zebrafish. Therefore, it needs to be treated before using tap water. Chlorine can be removed by standing for 3 to 4 days or exposing to the sun for 24 hours.
2. Disinfection: 1% of salt can be added to the water, which can effectively sterilize the water.
3. Nitrate bacteria system culture: Generally speaking, tap water belongs to fresh water. Fresh water is used for fish farming, and the feces of fish can not be treated. Therefore, it is necessary to add nitrate bacteria to tap water.
zebrafish can use mineral water. Zebrafish likes to live in hard water, and the water hardness should be controlled above 100 mg/L CaCO3. Mineral water is rich in minerals, and the hardness of water is high, generally 300-600mg/L. Therefore, the hardness of mineral water is suitable for zebrafish.
But you can't use mineral water that has not been treated. Before using mineral water, we need to add some alum to the water to deal with impurities, add some salt to sterilize and disinfect, and then put it in the sun for several hours, so that it can be put into use.
