Generally speaking, you need to add salt to raise fish, because adding salt has many advantages:
1. Adding salt can play a role in sterilization and disinfection, and prevent the occurrence of skin diseases in fish.
2. Adding salt can balance the osmotic pressure, so that the salt content in the fish body is the same as that outside the fish body, which is more conducive to the survival of the fish.
3. Adding salt can purify the water body, promote the precipitation of floccules in the water, and ensure the cleanliness of the water.
4. Salt can also be used as an auxiliary drug to treat sick fish, especially some fish with skin diseases.
However, if the fish cannot adapt to salt water, salt should not be added.
When raising fish, it should be noted that salt should not be added at will. Can not use edible salt, it is best to use fish special salt or coarse salt. Attention should also be paid to the amount of salt added, and the concentration of salinity salt in water should be controlled, generally keeping the salinity between 0.3% and 0.5%. If the salt concentration in the water is too high, the fish will die. If the salinity concentration in the water is too low, adding salt will not play the role of sterilization and disinfection. Of course, the amount of salt needed for fish farming depends on the type of fish. If it is a marine fish, it needs more salt. If it is freshwater fish, it needs less salt.
