Masked map turtle breeding is relatively simple. But when feeding, we need to ensure high temperature and clean water quality. Because they often live in water, they have higher requirements for water quality.
1. Temperature: Masked map turtles like high temperature environment, so they need to keep the water temperature between 26 and 28 degrees when raising them. If the water temperature is too low, they may die.
2. Food: They are omnivorous turtles, but their favorite food is meat and fish. When raising them, they can be fed with insects, small fish, shrimps, or some mollusks, such as snails. They can be fed every 2 to 3 days.
3. Water quality: Masked map turtles live in the water for a long time, and they have relatively high requirements for water quality. Therefore, if the water quality is not clean, their health is easily threatened. Therefore, they need to change water frequently when raising them, and a water circulation system can also be added to the water tank to ensure the cleanliness of the water.
4. Illumination: a certain amount of illumination is also necessary for them. They live in water for a long time and are likely to be attacked by various bacteria. Therefore, when raising them, they can be illuminated with some UVB lights, which can help kill bacteria.
