The red striped tortoise is easy to raise. When feeding, it is necessary to set the light, food, temperature, water level and so on to the most suitable range for them.
1. Temperature: When raising the red striped tortoise, the temperature needs to be controlled between 28 ℃. The temperature should not be too low, otherwise they will not be vigorous.
2. Food: When raising young red striped turtles, you need to feed them more meat food, which can help them supplement nutrition. When raising adult red striped turtles, they need to feed more vegetable, aquatic plants and other plant foods, which they prefer to eat.
3. Water quality: They sun their backs during the day and sleep in the water at night. The time in the water is relatively long. Therefore, water quality is crucial to their health. We need to ensure that the water is clean. It is better to add a filter to the tank and change the water once a week.
4. Illumination: The red-striped tortoise likes to bask in the sun. Therefore, when raising them, they need to provide a certain place to sun their backs. They can tan their backs for hours a day. When feeding, incandescent lamps or spotlights should be used instead in the case of insufficient sunshine. Light is good for their growth.
5. Water level: The red-striped tortoise rests in the water at night. Therefore, the water level in the cylinder should not be too high. The water level can reach one third of the turtle shell. If the water level is too high, they will easily choke water.
