When the butterfly carp is in the juvenile stage, it is more difficult to distinguish between male and female. When they are adults, they can distinguish between male and female. Specifically, it can be distinguished from the following three aspects:
1. Body size: If the male and female fish are basically the same age, and they are adult, they can be distinguished from their body size. If they are males, they will look more slender; If it is a female fish, then their body looks more plump.
2. Appearance: There is a big difference in appearance between male and female butterfly carp. First of all, from the head, the male fish's head compared with the female fish will have a protuberant state, but sometimes it is not easy to observe. In addition, there are some differences in their pectoral fins, the pectoral fins of male fish are relatively pointed, while the pectoral fins of female fish look relatively round.
3. Breeding season: If both the male and female fish are in the breeding season, then they can be distinguished from two aspects. From the point of view of the abdomen, if the abdomen is relatively large, it is the mother fish. From the genital point of view, the female fish's genital is convex, while the male fish's genital is concave.
After trailing, the ornamental value of butterfly carp will be enhanced. Generally speaking, male and female butterfly carp can be tailed. They trail basically when their body length grows to 20 centimeters. However, the size of their tail is not very certain, in order to make their tail big, we need to pay attention to nutrition and environment.
