When it is still a small turtle seedling, it is suitable to feed it with some lean meat, shrimp, fish and other feed, which can increase nutrition and is conducive to its growth. When it grows up, it also likes to eat some vegetables and fruits, at this time can cooperate with meat, feed some vegetable leaves, apple pieces and other plant feed. If there is a higher quality feed, it can also be used to feed. But fruit period and low quality tortoise food, cannot cast feed.
Generally speaking, they can be fed once every one to three days, and the amount of food fed each time can make them eat seven or eight full. Yellow-bellied slippery turtle belongs to a kind of poikilothermic animal, and its overall physiological activities are greatly affected by temperature. Especially the digestive system, the lower the ambient temperature, the weaker the function.
In general, the most suitable temperature for its growth is between 20-30 ℃, so in the period of high temperature, it can maintain the frequency of feeding once a day. But at this time, we need to pay attention to keeping the overall water quality clean, changing water once every two days on average, one third or one quarter of each time. If the temperature is low, the frequency of feeding can be reduced appropriately.
