In addition, some turtles are not resistant to high temperatures, and will have the habit of aestivation in summer.
1. Supplement nutrition: The tortoise needs to consume its own energy during hibernation. After waking up, it will lose weight. If there is not enough food for it to survive the winter, it may die in hibernation. So be sure to give it good nutrition before hibernation, in addition, if it is a young turtle or the body is relatively thin, it is not recommended to hibernate.
2. Stop feeding and soak in water: In the two weeks before the turtle hibernates, it needs to stop feeding, so that it can better hibernate. In the week before hibernation, it is necessary to soak it in warm water, not too high temperature, to promote its excretion of things in the intestines and stomach, in order to avoid residual waste will affect its health.
3. Cooling and hibernation: When it is time to hibernate, it is necessary to lower the ambient temperature and keep it at about 5 ℃, so that it will not wake up in advance. In spring, the temperature will rise to 15 ℃, so that it can wake up. At the same time, attention should be paid to feeding food.
