The olecranon mud turtle is a species of turtle that can be raised artificially. The difficulty of raising them can be said to be moderate. It is not too simple, nor too difficult to raise. They have requirements for some factors of the surrounding environment, such as water quality, sunshine and so on, but overall the requirements are not too high, and they are not easy to get sick. However, in order to make them grow stronger, there are still many problems that need to be paid attention to, and they need to be carefully raised.
1. Feeding: When breeding the olecranon, feeding is a more important factor. Olecranon prefer to eat meat, in the natural life of the olecranon will prey on fish, shrimp and even frogs as their own food. If they are raised in captivity, they also need meat as their main food, accounting for 70%. The rest of the large plant food and turtle feed can account for 30%. During the months of July and September, the olecranon mud turtles are most active, and they eat the most, so it's important to provide them with plenty of food. The specific time of feeding should also be paid attention to. In the spring and fall, feeding can be done at noon. In summer, when the temperature is too high at noon, they can be fed from 5 to 7 P. m.
2. Water quality: The olecranon mud turtle has certain requirements for water quality, and attention should be paid to ensuring water quality in the process of breeding. Generally speaking, it can be controlled to change water once a week, half or one third of each time.
3. Sunning: Proper sunning is also helpful for the growth of the olecranon mud turtle. But the time of basking in the sun every day need not be too long, control in 1-2 hours on the line. Moreover, we need to pay attention not to let particularly strong light shine on them, otherwise it will also cause harm to their body.
