The breeding cycle of angelfish does not have obvious time characteristics. Generally speaking, it is most frequent in March and April. During this period, light, temperature, environment and other conditions are more suitable for its reproductive needs. Angelfish generally enter sexual maturity between eight and nine months of age, with males slightly later than females, but at this time they are actually able to reproduce.
Generally speaking, they only spend about three or four months of the year in a state of rest, and the rest of the time is in the breeding period. If the environment is suitable, they can reproduce every 10-15 days. If the environmental conditions are poor, they will only reproduce every 20-30 days.
Angelfish can generally reproduce at the age of eight or nine months. Mother angelfish can lay eggs at about eight months of age. Males reach sexual maturity a little later, but not much later. Their reproduction has no obvious seasonal characteristics, but it is most frequent in March and April. The process of reproduction is not long, only a few hours in total. They can lay 400 to 1000 eggs at a time, and the actual number of eggs laid will be affected by the environment and the size of the parent fish.
