The white-striped fish and the alburnus both belong to ornamental fish species, and their appearance has certain similarities, so many people will confuse the two. However, there are differences between them, mainly through the following three aspects to distinguish them:
1. Mouth shape: There are obvious differences between the mouth shape of white striped fish and Topmouth fish. Topmouth fish is very characteristic of the mouth, is tilted up, because of this reason, it was named "Topmouth fish.". The white fish's mouth looks more normal, although sometimes some fish's mouth has a tilt phenomenon, but there will be no obvious tilt phenomenon.
2. Body shape: The body shape of white striped fish and Topmouth fish is also different. The back of the white strip fish is relatively straight, while the abdomen appears to be more convex, but the abdomen of the topmouth fish looks relatively flat.
3. Size: The size of the white strip is also different from that of the topmouth fish. After adulthood, the length of the white strip fish can be about 25 centimeters, and the length of the top mouth fish may be about 1 meter. Generally speaking, the alburnus is larger than the white strip fish.
White fish and alburnus can be mixed culture together. They all belong to freshwater fish, but also omnivorous fish, placed in a relatively easy to regulate the surrounding environmental factors. In addition, although their size is not the same, the size of the alburnus is larger than the white fish, but they are not fierce fish, so in the process of mixed culture is generally not fighting. If they are mixed, they need to pay attention to providing them with enough food.
