The life span of the big pencil fish is very long, and it can live for more than ten years. This kind of fish is suitable to live in fresh water, its swimming speed is not fast, the quality of water and feed hygiene often affect its life. It lives well in neutral or weakly acidic water, and the range of feed is relatively large, but it usually needs to be fed with meat, which should be disinfected before feeding.
The size of the big pencil fish is generally limited by the fish tank. If it grows in the wild, it can grow to about 120-150 centimeters. Domestic basically can not be so big, 1.5 meters of tank can be raised up to about 70 centimeters, if the tank is smaller, the size of the fish will be smaller, usually 1 meter tank, the fish can only grow to 40-50 centimeters.
