It is very easy for guppies to die after being infected with saprolegniasis. Saprolegniasis is a common disease of guppies, which has no specific time of morbidity and can occur in four seasons. If it is early saprolegniasis, it can be alleviated and treated by heating, using drugs, changing water and so on. But if it is advanced saprolegniasis, it is generally difficult to treat. Even if the treatment is successful, the body function of the guppy will be affected.
1. Change water frequently: Water is the air of guppies, and the quality of air can directly affect the life span of guppies. In general, water needs to be changed twice a week. When changing water, only one third of the water needs to be changed, and when changing water, try to use old water, such as pond water.
2. Disinfection: Disinfect the fish tank thoroughly once a month, because fish are aquatic animals and eat and drink in the water. If disinfection is not in place, they are likely to be infected with saprolegniasis.
3. Oxygen: Although saprolegniasis may occur all the year round, the incidence is the highest in hot weather. High temperature and hypoxia can reduce the resistance of guppies, and saprolegniasis can easily attack guppies. Therefore, in high temperature weather, we should pay attention to giving oxygen to guppies to avoid hypoxia.
