Coral is a kind of marine organism, which we are familiar with. Although they look like plants in appearance, they actually belong to the category of animals. However, many people may not have heard of corals, and some people may confuse corals with corals because of their similar names. In fact, corals and polyps are different, and they should not be confused. Of course, corals and polyps are not completely unrelated, because corals are formed by many polyps growing together, which can be said to be social animals, and polyps are individual animals. Therefore, they can not be regarded as the same.
As mentioned above, although corals and polyps have certain connections, they are not the same after all. They are different in the following aspects:
1. Shape: We are more familiar with corals, and we can often see them. Their shape is more like a Bush, but not necessarily, sometimes the shape of different corals is quite different, they will have many different shapes, this is because the number and location of polyps in the composition of coral will be different. The shape of coral is relatively single, their shape is cylindrical, radially symmetrical.
2. Species: The species of corals and polyps are also different. There are many different kinds of corals, and the differences are quite large. For example, some corals live in shallow seas and are called "reef-building corals"; Some live in deep water and are called "non-reef-building corals". However, the species of coral is relatively single, the difference is not big, each individual's body size is similar.
