Jellyfish live in the ocean, is a kind of marine life. There are many other animals living in the sea, such as fish. Therefore, many people will mistakenly believe that jellyfish are also fish. In fact, this is a very wrong view, jellyfish and fish are very different, they are two completely different organisms. Fish belongs to vertebrates, which is a relatively ancient vertebrate. Jellyfish, on the other hand, are invertebrates and belong to a lower class of coelenterates. In contrast, the body structure of fish is more complex, while the body structure of jellyfish is relatively simple.
As mentioned above, jellyfish are invertebrates, while fish are vertebrates. They are completely different organisms. There are some characteristics of fish that are more prominent. For example, the way of breathing, fish use gills to breathe. Jellyfish have no gills, no respiratory organs, their way of breathing is relatively special, only with the help of ectodermal cells to breathe. Another example is the way to swim, fish swim with fins, but jellyfish have no fins, they can only use the contraction of the cavity to jet water, with the help of this water to move. Another example is the way of reproduction, fish generally use oviparous way to reproduce, but jellyfish do not use this way to reproduce.
It can be seen that the outstanding characteristics of fish are not possessed by jellyfish, so jellyfish do not belong to fish. In fact, the invertebrates to which jellyfish belong are relatively low-level organisms, much lower than fish.
