The kissing fish can reproduce. It is hard bone class Perciformes marsh mouth fish family marsh mouth fish genus fish, scientific name for snout perch. Its reproductive mode is oviparous. However, the newly born fish do not have the ability to reproduce. They need about 15 months to grow before they can enter sexual maturity and have the ability to reproduce.
1. Prepare the breeding environment: Prepare a clean fish tank and inject some clean water with the water temperature around 26 ℃ into it. And plant some aquatic plants with leaves that can float on the water.
2. Put in kissing fish: Put the male and female kissing fish in the breeding period into the fish tank according to the ratio of 1:1, and add a small amount of distilled water to stimulate their estrus. After oestrus, the male performs a courtship dance and then begins romping with his mother. The female then begins to ovulate and the male begins to ejaculate. The whole process of reproduction lasts for several hours.
Because kissing fish do not have the habit of protecting eggs, and may eat fish eggs by mistake, they need to be fished out of the fish tank in time after spawning. After 1-2 days, the eggs will hatch into small fish. The newly hatched fish do not need to be fed, because they will use the nutrients in the yolk to grow. After two or three days, they will begin to swim. At this time, it can be fed with a large amount of migratory water. After 2-3 days, they can be fed with small red worms as fish food.
