When a fish is found to have white spot disease, the first thing to do is to stop feeding. Fish have a strong hunger tolerance, sometimes a month without feeding is no problem, so do not worry about it will be starved to death. The reason for stopping feeding is that on the one hand, the appetite of fish is not strong, on the other hand, the residual bait will lead to deterioration of water quality, and then affect its recovery.
After stopping feeding the fish, the next step is to heat up properly. Generally, warming can only play a role in accelerating metabolism, but it has a therapeutic effect on this disease. Because the main cause of the disease is the small melon insect, this parasite can not survive at a certain water temperature, so the temperature should be maintained at about 30 C, but also constant temperature, to avoid excessive temperature difference between day and night.
If you feel that the therapeutic effect of warming up is too slow, you can also use the way of drug immersion to treat it. The most common way is to soak it in salt water with a concentration of 5% for more than ten minutes every day for three consecutive days. In addition to brine, you can also choose methyl blue, malachite green, formaldehyde and so on. It should be noted that with drug treatment, the disappearance of white spots does not mean that cured, small melon insects have not completely died, so need to continue to bathe for a period of time.
