The silver arowana grows very fast. When the newly born fish enters the development period, it can grow from 6 or 7 cm to 12 cm in a month. The length of the one-month-old fish is about 12 cm, and the length of the two-month-old fish can reach about 17 cm, while the length of the three-month-old fish is about 24 cm.

If it is a smaller silver arowana with a body length of less than 25 cm, it can grow nearly 10 cm in one month under suitable feeding conditions and proper feeding. However, if it is a fish with a body length of more than 40 cm, which is close to adulthood, it can only grow about two to three centimeters a month at most.

In natural environment, the maximum length of wild Arowana can reach 1.2 meters to 1.3 meters. However, the artificially fed Arowana is basically no more than one meter, with an average of about 90-100 cm. The growth rate of Arowana is relatively fast, and it can grow about 30 cm a year. This kind of fish has a long life span. Fish living in the wild can live for 15 or even 20 years, while fish raised in captivity can live for an average of 6 or 7 years. When feeding this kind of fish, we should pay attention to the fact that only two fish can be farmed in the tank at most, not only because this kind of fish is larger in adulthood, but also because they have a strong sense of territory. If the number of fish farmed together is too large, they may fight and cause injuries.
