In the process of raising fish, sometimes we use salt. Salt is used for sterilization and disinfection, which can reduce the probability of fish illness after use, and can also regulate the internal and external balance of fish to a certain extent, improve their appetite and so on. However, when adding salt to the fish tank, we must pay attention to the proportion. Generally speaking, the proportion of salt can be controlled between 0.3% and 0.5%, not more than 0.5%. For some freshwater fish with poor tolerance to salt, the concentration of salt should not be too high, generally speaking, about 0.3%.
As mentioned above, although putting salt in the water has certain benefits for fish, you need to pay special attention to the concentration problem, and the concentration should not be too high. If you put too much salt in the water at one time, it will cause some harm to the fish's body. For example, the body of fish may appear to fade, so their ornamental value will be reduced; If the concentration of salt is high, it may lead to dehydration of fish, which has a very negative impact on their health. Especially for freshwater fish, if the salt concentration is too high, it may lead to their death.
Therefore, if you find that you put too much salt, you can take some remedial measures. For example, you can change the water to reduce the concentration of salt, do not need to change all, generally about a third of the water, and then add new sun-dried tap water. If the salt concentration is still particularly high, this step can be repeated.
