The guppish long white hair is not necessarily contagious, but whether it will be contagious depends on the reason why they grow white hair. If the guppy is injured and causes the wound to rot and grow hair, then normal is not contagious. If it is because of white spot disease, white skin disease, water mold, etc., it is generally contagious. Moreover, the transmission speed of white spot disease is relatively fast, and breeders need immediate treatment after finding it.
2. How to treat guppy's long white hair1. Isolation: As mentioned above, guppy's long white hair may be suffering from diseases, and most diseases will be at risk of infection. Breeders need to isolate sick guppies first, which can prevent them from spreading to other fish and make it easier to treat them. If conditions permit, the fish tank where guppy grows can also be cleaned to avoid bacterial residue.
2. Sterilization: After isolating the sick fish, the breeder needs to raise the water temperature to 28 ℃ first, and then use potassium permanganate to sterilize them to inhibit the growth of bacteria. It is best to change water every day to keep the water clean. Stop feeding and wait for them to recover before feeding.
3. Drug application: Finally, the breeder can treat the guppy according to their etiology. After drug application, the breeder needs to observe their condition regularly. If discomfort is found, treatment should be stopped immediately. If the disease is found to be relieved, the dosage should also be reduced.
