It is best to raise guppies in bare tanks, because it is easier to control the water temperature and water quality in bare tanks, and there is plenty of space in bare tanks, which can make guppies grow and develop better. Although the grass tank can enhance the ornamental value, there are too many aquatic plants, which easily leads to weak acidity of water, which conflicts with the weak alkaline water quality required by guppy. In addition, planting aquatic plants requires laying bottom sand and aquatic plant mud, which is easy to breed bacteria, so it is not recommended to cultivate them in grass tanks.
How to raise guppy in bare tank or grass tank 1. It is better to raise guppy in bare tank or grass tank

because bare tank can better control water temperature and water quality, and guppy will have more room for activity and better growth and development. In order to enhance the ornamental value, many breeders will plant more aquatic plants. But if there are too many aquatic plants, the water will become acidic. The water quality that guppies like to live in is weakly alkaline, and there will be conflicts in water quality. In addition, planting aquatic plants requires laying aquatic plant mud or sand at the bottom of the tank, which is easy to breed bacteria, so it is best for breeders not to keep guppy in the grass tank.

2. How to raise guppies

1. Environment: Guppies do not have high requirements on the environment. As long as the breeder keeps the water temperature and water quality stable, they can develop well. When raising artificially, it is best to install heating rods to keep the water temperature between 23-28 ℃. It is better to install another filter to slow down the deterioration of water quality. If conditions permit, an oxygen pump can also be installed to pump oxygen for 2 hours every day to keep sufficient oxygen in the water.

2. Feeding: Guppies do not have high food requirements. Breeders can feed them some good-year shrimp, red worms, yellow mealworms, bread worms, water fleas, water earthworms and other foods, and can also feed some vegetables, fruits, algae and so on regularly. Guppies don't eat much, so breeders can feed them 1-2 times a day, and the amount of each feed can be finished within 5 minutes.
