The lowest acceptable water temperature of lotus lantern fish is 20 ℃, so long as the breeder can keep the water temperature above 20 ℃, they can survive normally. However, long-term low temperature will slow down their growth and development, and make their physique worse. If the water temperature is lower than 20 ℃, they will easily freeze to death directly. Even though some lotus lantern fish can grow in water temperature below 20 ℃, they will not last long. Because the low temperature environment will reduce their resistance, they are prone to illness and death. Although Baoliandeng fish are tropical fish, breeders can't use water temperature higher than 30 ℃ to breed them, otherwise they are likely to die.

As mentioned above, the lotus lantern fish is tropical fish, so they like to grow in a warm environment. During artificial breeding, it is necessary to keep the water temperature between 24-26 ℃. In this temperature range, their appetite and activity are the highest, and their growth speed is also the fastest.

If conditions permit, it is best for the breeder to install a heating rod to keep the water temperature in a stable range. This will not only speed up their growth, but also avoid illness and other discomfort.
