Arowana naturally prefers live bait, and Arowana growing in the wild also preys on some live bait as food. When reared in captivity, they also retain their original habits and prefer some live bait.
If breeders want to train them to eat other foods, they can mix other foods with live bait, and when they receive other foods, they can feed them at will. If the arowana eats no other food and only chooses live bait to eat, the breeder can choose to clamp the freeze-dried feed or other meat with a clip and shake it in the water, which can simulate the live bait and promote the arowana to eat.
When feeding arowana, breeders should pay attention to the amount and frequency of feeding. And when feeding food, it is best to feed other food first, and then feed live bait at last. Or feed only live bait and no other food.
2. How to feed Arowana correctly1. Feeding amount: The space for artificially raised Arowana is not enough, so their activity amount will not be too high. Breeders can't feed them too much. Young fish can be fed 80% full every time, and adult fish can be fed 70% full every time.
2. Feeding frequency: The feeding frequency of arowana should also be determined according to their growth stage. Under normal feeding conditions, arowana in infancy needs to be fed 2-3 times a day. As an adult, you can feed it 1-2 times a day. If they don't eat well, they can be fed once a day or once every two days.
