Moonfish and Mickey fish are not the same fish, but they both belong to swordtail fish. Mickey fish is a kind of moonfish, which is a cross between swordtail fish and spotted swordtail fish. Although they are similar in appearance and habits, there are some differences.

3. Color difference: The earliest color of Mickey fish is golden yellow. After many crosses, their body colors become red and white. Moonfish was originally brown and black, and it was after many hybridization and improvement that red, blue and gold appeared. There is a big difference in color between them, and breeders can distinguish them by their body color.
