1. Choose feed: Koi is not picky eaters, and can eat many kinds of food. Common animal feeds include bumper shrimp, red worm, water earthworm, bread worm, yellow mealworm, etc. These foods have high nutritional value and are very suitable for feeding koi which is in the golden period of growth and development. But in addition to animal feed, some synthetic feed can also be fed to help balance nutrition.

2. Feeding amount: Koi has a large appetite, but breeders can't feed too much food. It is best to control the amount of feeding at 8 minutes each time. If it is a small koi fish, it is most appropriate to eat the food in 5 minutes. If it is a big koi fish, it is most appropriate to eat the food in 30 minutes. However, breeders should adjust the feeding amount according to the change of temperature at ordinary times, and increase it appropriately when the temperature is high.

3. Feeding frequency: When feeding koi, it must be fixed at a fixed time, so as to cultivate their conditioned reflex. Generally speaking, koi can be fed twice a day. Feeding them at 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. every day can ensure that they have enough food.
