Arowana prefers weak acidic soft water, and the PH value can be kept between 6.5 and 7.5 in artificial breeding. They have high requirements on water quality, so it is necessary to keep the water quality clean and fresh during artificial breeding. Under normal circumstances, the water can be changed once every 3 days or so. If conditions permit, it is best to install a filter to slow down the deterioration of water quality. In this way, the frequency of changing water can also be reduced, about once a week.
Arowana water quality requirements, Arowana water temperature requirements 1. Arowana Water Quality Requirements

Arowana has higher water quality requirements, and they like to grow in weak acidic soft water. When cultured artificially, the PH value can be kept between 6.5 and 7.5, so that they can grow better. But now most tap water is weakly alkaline, and it is best for breeders to adjust the water quality to weakly acidic before using it. To adjust the acidity and alkalinity of water, chemical acid regulators can be selected, and olive leaves can also be added to water. If the water quality is too hard, you can boil it before using it.

Arowana likes clean and refreshing water quality, so it is best for breeders to change water once every 3 days or so. The amount of water change each time should not be too large, and should be controlled at one third of the total amount of water. A circulating filtration system can also be installed to slow down the deterioration of water quality. This can reduce the frequency of changing water, and it is ok to change water once a week. In addition, tap water contains more chlorine, so breeders need to be exposed to the sun for 2-3 days before using it.

2. Arowana water temperature requirements

Arowana is a tropical fish and likes higher water temperature. The water temperature can be kept between 28-30 ℃ during artificial breeding. However, it is not recommended to use too high water temperature for aquaculture of Arowana and Red Arowana, and it is best to adjust it to between 24-26 ℃.

Arowana is sensitive to temperature changes, so it is best for breeders to install a heating rod to keep the water temperature constant. In addition, when changing water, the temperature difference between new water and old water should not exceed 1 ℃.
