There are many kinds of tortoises, and their requirements for temperature are different. Tortoises living in tropical areas prefer high temperature environment compared with tortoises living in temperature areas. Usually, the temperature should be kept between 26-32 ℃, which can meet the needs of most tortoises, and the temperature can be 2-3 ℃ lower at night.
2. HumidityAlthough tortoises live on land, they also prefer humid environment. If it is native to desert areas, the humidity requirement is slightly lower, which can be maintained at 40-60%, while tortoises in rainforest areas need humidity of about 60-80%. If you raise it in some dry places, you need to install a humidifier to keep moisture. In addition, a water basin can be placed in the feeding box, which is convenient for it to drink water and take a bath.
3. IlluminationTortoises, like water turtles, need certain illumination during their growth, especially ultraviolet rays to ensure that they synthesize various vitamins and promote the absorption of calcium. Long-term lack of light will lead to soft nail disease. Usually, it is equipped with three kinds of lamps, UVA lamps to sun its back, UVB lamps to provide ultraviolet rays, and ceramic lamps to control the temperature.
IV. FeedingTortoises prefer a vegetarian diet and occasionally eat insects. Usually, it should be fed turtle food, with a variety of combinations, supplemented with grass powder and calcium powder, and occasionally fed with a little vegetables and fruits. It should be noted that the acidity of the fed food must not be too high, otherwise it will lead to picky eaters, abnormal acid excretion and possible stones.
