If the water is too deep, the tortoise may drown. Although many turtles can swim, as reptiles, they still breathe with their lungs and cannot breathe in water, so they must come up from time to time to breathe. If the water is too deep and it needs to swim for a long time, it will consume its physical strength and drown before it can swim to it. Therefore, when raising artificially, it is best not to use too deep water or prepare a place where you can go ashore.

1. Pig-nosed turtles: Pig-nosed turtles are highly aquatic turtles, which are very good at swimming and only go ashore when laying eggs. It prefers warm climate and is afraid of cold. The water temperature for breeding should be kept at about 26-28 ℃. It should be noted that this turtle is naturally fond of fighting, so it must not be mixed.

2. Crocodile turtle: Crocodile turtle is a very fierce turtle. It is native to North America and mainly lives in water there. Except for breeding, it hardly goes ashore at other times. Its own water quality is very good, so it can also be raised in deep water. However, it is not very kind, so it must be careful when raising to avoid being bitten.

3. Razor Turtle: Razor Turtle is also a typical deep-water turtle, which does not need to bask in its back frequently, so the water level can be higher. However, in the period of young turtles, do not use deep water to raise them, and it is best to provide a landing site in the container, so that they can go ashore without wasting their physical strength by swimming all the time.
