When enteritis reaches the middle stage, they will refuse to eat, stop moving, and darken their bodies. And their stool will turn black or pig liver color. When enteritis comes to the later stage, they will have dull eyes, thin body and egg white stool.

The main cause of enteritis in Brazilian tortoises is improper feeding, such as unclean food, which will lead to gastroenteritis. Or long-term feeding of a large amount of food leads to indigestion, and over time, enteritis will occur.

2. How to treat enteritis of Brazilian tortoise

If Brazilian tortoise can still eat, some berberine, chloramphenicol and other drugs can be fed, which can effectively relieve the discomfort caused by enteritis. If they can't eat, they can buy veterinary enteritis spirit, dilute it with water, put it in, soak it for 24 hours, and then take it out. Repeat it twice, and it will have a good effect.

During treatment, try to reduce feeding except necessary bait. Change water every day to ensure clean water quality. If conditions permit, they can be installed with a filter to reduce the discomfort caused by water quality changes.
