1. Prepare the incubator: crocodile turtles will hatch after laying eggs, and now artificial incubation is generally adopted. When hatching, you should first prepare an incubator of suitable size. The bottom of the box is covered with a layer of foam board, but a small hole should be pierced in the foam board. Then spread a layer of coarse sand, spread two layers of fine sand on the top, and finally put the eggs on the sand. Note that the interval between eggs should be larger.
2. Control the incubation environment: When crocodile turtle eggs hatch, it is necessary to keep the temperature in the incubator between 28-30 ℃ and the humidity between 81%-85%. The water content of sand should be controlled between 7% and 8%.
3. Regular inspection: Hatching can be started after the environment in the incubator is adjusted. During hatching, the breeder needs to observe regularly. If the sand turns white, it means that there is water shortage. At this time, some water should be sprayed properly. Also take a flashlight to shine on the eggs of crocodile turtles regularly to avoid spoiling other eggs.
2. How to raise crocodile turtle eggs after hatchingThere are umbilical cords on the belly armour of newly hatched crocodile turtles. At this time, they need to be raised on sand or vermiculite for a few days. After their umbilical cords fall off, they can be raised in water.
Newborn crocodile turtles do not need to be fed immediately, because they have vitellotin on their umbilical cord, which is enough for them to absorb for a while. After they are absorbed, feed some minced meat of small fish and shrimp.
