If the tortoises enter the suspended animation in summer, they need to be put in a cool place and soaked in blisters. This condition is usually caused by dehydration due to high temperature. If it is not treated in time, it may threaten life and make it change from suspended animation to real death. In addition, when the turtle is in danger in the wild, it will fake death, or the environment makes it feel strange, so it will shrink its limbs and remain motionless.

1. The temperature is too high: Tortoises usually fake death because the temperature is too high. Although as a temperature-changing animal, turtles prefer a slightly higher temperature environment, there is a limit to the high temperature. If it exceeds 35 ℃, turtles may suffer from heatstroke. If the high temperature causes it to dehydrate, it will show a state of suspended animation.

2. Self-protection: Animal suspended animation is usually a self-protection mechanism, and it is also true for turtles. When it is in danger, it will also enter the state of suspended animation. At this time, it will shrink its limbs into the shell, and no matter how it is treated, it will not come out of the shell.

3. Environmental discomfort: When the environment makes the turtle feel strange, it will also enter the state of suspended animation, which is similar to the situation of self-protection. It mainly makes a defensive attitude towards the external environment to avoid being hurt, but as it gets familiar with it, it will gradually recover from suspended animation.
