Amber is a semi-water turtle with partial water. Amber's own preference is to like land, which can be basically raised in shallow water or dry in areas with high humidity, and generally raised in shallow water or dry in Southeast Asia. In the dry northern region, the water level needs not to pass its back, otherwise the air is dry, the humidity is poor, and the shell will explode. Amber turtles usually go to deep water areas to mate. Only when they mate will they enter deep water areas. Most of the rest of the time they spend in shallow water areas, and a small part of the time they climb on land to bask in their backs.

Although Amber turtle is a semi-water turtle with partial water, its water quality is not good. Therefore, when setting the water area, the water level should not be too deep. Under normal circumstances, the water level should not pass its back. If the set water level is too deep, the Amber turtle will drown and die, and if the water level is too shallow, the shell will explode, which is very unfavorable to the healthy growth of Amber turtle.

Keep the water quality clean when feeding. It is recommended to change the water once or twice a week, not at one time, but at one third of the water level every time. Avoid excessive temperature difference, which will affect the feeding of Amber turtles.
