Most crocodile turtles start laying eggs from May to November every year. Wild crocodile turtles climb to the shore when laying eggs, looking for an open land, and then dig a pit with their limbs to lay eggs in it.

For farmed crocodile turtles, when laying eggs, the breeder should first prepare a land environment for them, which should be covered with soft soil or sand. Secondly, it is necessary to ensure that their spawning environment is comfortable, and the temperature should be kept between 25-28 ℃. Finally, keep the environment quiet. When they lay eggs, don't make too much noise to avoid them being frightened. After they lay eggs, the breeder can gently pull away the soil and put the eggs into the incubator.

The reproductive capacity of crocodile turtles is relatively strong, and the reproductive capacity is also relatively large. Under normal feeding, they lay 20-90 eggs. Moreover, they lay eggs more than once a year, so the specific number of eggs laid is uncertain. If it is the crocodile turtle laying eggs for the first time, the number of eggs laid will be relatively small. If they are larger or have reproduced several times, they will lay more eggs. Crocodile turtles will be irritable and crawling before laying eggs, and they will also refuse to eat.
