It will take at least five years to judge accurately by their mating position.

1. Look at the carapace: There are great differences between male and female carapace of razor turtles. Generally speaking, the carapace of male turtles is somewhat narrow but somewhat long. The carapace of female turtles is wider and shorter.

2. Look at the abdominal armor: After the razor turtle matures, the position of the abdominal armor is also very different. The abdominal armor of the male turtle is sunken, while the abdominal armor of the female turtle is relatively flat, which is obvious and accurate.
