The suitable water level depth is different with different growth stages of the pearl turtle. It is best for breeders to determine the depth of water level according to their size. Generally speaking, young pearl turtles are suitable for living in shallow water, and it is best for breeders to keep the height of water level consistent with the height of carapace. In this way, they will not be at risk of choking or drowning, and the height of water level will not affect the development of their carapace.
As they grow in size, so does the depth of the water level. When they are adults, the height of water level can be kept at 2-3 times of the height of carapace, and the maximum should not exceed 3 times. Because pearl turtles have strong physical strength and swimming ability in adulthood, and they like to live in water, the water level can be deeper.
2. What is the water temperature of pearl turtleThe pearl turtle does not require high water temperature. They can withstand both high temperature and low temperature. As long as the water temperature is between 20-30 ℃, they can survive well. If breeders want them to survive better, it is best to keep the water temperature at about 25 ℃. Because in this temperature range, their appetite and activity are the highest. If the water temperature is too low, they will lose appetite and reduce their activity. If the water temperature is lower than 15 ℃, they will hibernate.
