Swordtail guppy and general guppies do not have much difference in environmental requirements, and it is a relatively easy ornamental fish to raise. However, when farming, special attention should be paid not to put some hard and sharp stones in the tank, so as not to scratch the tail fin when they swim.
1. Water temperature: Swordtail guppies are suitable for growing in water with a temperature of about 25 ℃. Although they have a certain ability to withstand low temperatures, they do not like low temperature water. If the water temperature is below 20 C, their appetite will decrease and their growth rate will slow down. Therefore, special attention should be paid in winter, it is better to install heating rods in the water tank to avoid freezing.
2. Water quality: They do not have strict requirements on water quality. They just prefer weakly alkaline water to weakly acidic water. When farming, it is recommended to adjust the PH value of the water to 7.0-7.5, which is more beneficial to their growth.
3. Change water: In order to maintain the water quality, it is recommended to change water 1-2 times a week during cultivation. If there is a filter device, the frequency of water change can be lower. When changing water every time, we should try our best to ensure that the water temperature and water quality do not change greatly before and after changing water, so as to avoid the fish can not adapt.
4. Feeding: It is recommended to feed them with cooked spinach or guppy fish food. Occasionally, some animal feeds such as red worms, nematodes and shrimp can be fed, but they should be disinfected in advance before feeding, so as to avoid fish getting sick after eating.
